i am desperate for a new solution.
i go three time a week. the problem isb that on this particular days i am bound to stay at home.
the reason is that i will leak. no exceptions though i'll always hope it won't happen again.
after approx. after three hours on the toilettchair i shower and get dressed.but after 4 to 8 hours
there is more stool. it is so frustrating.i tried everything. a high fiber diet, lots of water, all kind of stoolsoftener increasing the amount constantly.usually i take the softener in the evening and bullets in the morning.but to make sure all is out i use an enemee.after that i really believe i am empty.
but surprise there will be more in the afternoon or evening.i'm so sick of it.i feel so unsave te whole day.i also take pills against gas.
may be someone knows something new i can try.and please don't recommend enemeez or magic bulletts cause we don't have them were i live.
i guess all i can say is 'life is shit'.for me anyway noone

Noone,

Have you tried NOT using the bullets, and just using digital stimulation?

Ditto.
You may need to adjust your diet, too.

I've been a quad for almost 43 years now. At first, I used to try to go either every day or every other day using Dulcolax suppositories. Sometimes it worked well, sometimes not.

I finally settled on about every third day. If I took a really good one, then I'd skip an extra day. I've rarely been constipated and never impacted. I found over the years that the more medications I took, the more stool softeners, too much fiber or greasy foods, or even artificial and over processed foods is what really screwed me up.

As others have pointed out, you may be getting too much fiber, taking too much stool softener, and the enema material hasn't fully drained and it kicks in a little later.

I've had occasions where I've taken a suppository, had results and thought I was done. Then, hours later or the next day, had to go again. Sometimes the old guts just get stubborn or rebellious.

I know how frustrating and embarrassing it can be. Trust me; over the years there probably hasn't been a situation I haven't experienced--bowel-wise.

I've accidentally crapped in my chair, in a car, at home, in a hospital, on vacation, had to leave restaurants, conventions, you name it. It sucks.

It takes a lot of experimentation and trial-and-error to get your routine ironed out.

Hi Noone,
Sorry but I'm not sure what you mean by going three times a week . . .
does that mean you go Mon, Wed, Fri, and skip the weekend, or do you go every other day or every third day??

Also, Quad65 has a point with stool softeners. I've completely gone off them because my body digested things to well . . . haven't had an accidental :crytch: since.

I realise you've stated that you're on high fibre etc but it may be worthwhile continuing to experiment with diet. The trouble is we each react differently to different things and even on our own can become immune to a once helpful food. In recent times I've become a fan of kiwifruit. Once I thought beer was a good solution (I think that must have been in the good ol' days).

Sounds like a difficult situation from what you've explained. I would think eating just one meal a day wouldn't leave enough in your system to have BM every other day or even every two days.

I eat three meals a day. Breakfast is a medium bowl of whole wheat cereal either plain or with a banana cut up on it or sprinkled with raisins. I have a small glass of orange or apple juice with it.
Lunch is usually a sandwich of whole grain bread, a slice of lunch-meat and a slice of cheese, once in a great while I'll have soup, too. Sometimes I'll have left-overs from the previous night's supper. I might have a snack in late afternoon.
Supper is my main meal. It's the usual stuff; meat, potatoes, veggies, bread, whatever we decide on.
Once in a while I'll have something sweet with coffee afterwards.

On occasion, I'll have some Tequila and tortilla chips while watching a movie at night.

That's been my habit for decades.

You might be having gas pains or discomfort from too much fiber or discomfort from too little material in your intestines. This is just a wild-ass guess and conjecture. Sometimes I can have discomfort from not eating enough. What's there is over-worked by my system.

You might try eating small meals several times a day to try to smooth things out and see if that offers any relief. I'd suggest keeping your water intake up, too.

Don't think you've fooled yourself just yet, but glad it was a good day today (and as listed before. Quad65 threw that one out first, I just rode it in)!!

I also recommend a more consistant schedule . . . skipping a day on the weekend could throw your body off . . . just a thought, try every other day.

Keep pluggin' away at trying different things! :mfromg: --well, this may NOT be one of them, as suggested by the 'Nomis Order.' :lmao:

This would always happen to my fiancee. He uses the magic bullet and goes every other night. After he is done going I stimulate his rectum with my finger and that usually helps him to get that last little bit out. No more accidents. His doctor recommended it and it has helped greatly.

Hi Noone,
I had the same problem for years and have tried different things to "fix" it. Increased water intake is good, but it's important to space your water intake out and NOT drink loads at one time and not enough the rest of the day. I have a bowel program every other day and if I miss a day, it's more difficult. I'd recommend the every other day as the weekend "off" might be making things more difficult through the week. Also, it really helps me to manually stimulate my stomach and abdomen by rubbing and pushing on it. Some stretching or twisting of my abdomen can help too. I have no control of bowels or bladder so I have to help it along this way. I use an enema every other day and on the morning of the enema, I add the fiber powder to a glass of orange juice or hot tea.

I still have "accidents" but not as frequently, it's just impossible to completely control them. Yes, they are terribly inconvenient and embarassing and unpleasant, but it goes with my territory. However, since being more aware of the need to help it out, I have had less accidents.

I wish you luck. It's just not fun, is it?
