Just came from Cancun and I have to tell you that I enjoyed a lot. First of all I want to tell everybody that there is a company that has accessible vans with ramp for manual and power wheelchair. I used it FOR THE AIRPORT AND TOURS and I loved it. The company is, http://www.cancunacc.../servicios.html . I know, the site is in spanish but they told me that the english version is under construction. They also said that everybody can send an e-mail to them if you want more information, in english or spanish, about prices etc. I went to Xcaret and to La Isla village shopping mall using their van and with no problem. The hotel was RIU CARIBE and guest what, There is a 2 inches step in the bathroom to access to the toilet. They told me that the bathroom was accessible with rolling shower but I didn't ask about the toilet. Great. Next time I 'll do it. The Hotel don't have access to the sport bar either. To be honest I don't recommend this hotel for disabled people because of their "accessible rooms" . Just one more thing, at the shopping mall i found a 4 inches step to access to the EVERY store.Horrible for power wheelchairs. ok, if anybody needs more information just let me know.
