Hi
I've got a small wound on my bum that I think was caused by a transfer when my skin was a bit vulnerable the other day. It's only little (the wound, not my bum - that's far from little) and it hasn't bled but did weep a little bit. It's beginning to dry out now and I'm keeping it covered with a mepore dressing at the moment. Does anyone have any tips on a good dressing I could use? It needs to be pretty flat and not liable to roll up when I transfer. Should I use some inadine spray or anything similar?
Thanks!

Make this cream by mixing equal portions of Nylantin cream, zinc oxide, and antibiotic cream... i use the generic brands of the last two but you may have to ask your pharmacist about the nylantin. I've tried a plethora of different things and this stuff blows em all out of the water!.. and is a fraction of the cost of many of em. I put the stuff on lightly for in the daytime and cut a small piece of duoderm to make a patch backed with good ol masking tape to keep the stuff from getting messy...leave it open at night and generously put on the cream.

I, too, had a concoction I've used for minor ( and some major) abrasions. It was like the above in that it consisted of an antibiotic cream mixed with zinc oxide.
Keeping it clean is the most important thing, and my wound care doctor was very adamant about letting it " AIR OUT ", as he called it.
If it's starting to dry up on it's own,, you must be doing something right.
