I would like to be a part of some sort of team sport. But I can't push myself around on my manual chair yet. Also I would like any input for any other semi-affordable sports available for quads. I live in Pleasant Hill California ( Northern California) and I am looking for local stuff. :drunk: one other thing I am looking for a local place that would have the right equipment for me to get up on a horse. I would need trunk support.

In New Zealand we have riding for the disabled but am not sure if they do anything like that in the USA. I trided to Google it but it is not working at the moment. I always thought electric wheelchair or mobility scooter ice racing or wheelchair ice hockey at an ice rink would be pretty good fun. Not sure if anyone has ever tried anything like it, if it would work it or it even exists. :yahoo:

This is a facebook link, so I don't know if you can open it or not. (you must have a FB account)

But it's a link to USQRA QuadRugby. If you can't open this link, just google that.

Shelley R.,

Have you considered bowling? A quadriplegic man is responsible for this power wheelchair bowling apparatus. Your northern California location may have some bowling lanes that would be interested in the device. You may find that you could use a power chair in which to participate in this bowling sport.
