I always had trouble picking the post up off the floor, so a trip to the kitchen was needed!

Using a fork to pick up the post off the floor, if you get the letter between the fork prongs, you can lift letters onto your lap.

It makes it easier with the fork stuffed in your glove. Just be carefull when you scratch your nose though!
