I am getting ready to get married and was wondering if there is any one in the US that is married and getting paid to care for your husband or wife through a consumer direct program or through an agency?

I'm not getting paid to care for my husband but let me tell you it would be so much easier if I was then I wouldn't have half the worries about who is coming in the house and if they show up because I leave for work before they get here and have had to leave work a few times because no one has shown up. Let me know if you find anything out. Good Luck.

Hi Monty. Jetski here. The least read member of the group, also the oldest member of this group. Hey, I gotta have something to brag about among the list snobbery here.

Anyway, unfortunately, there are only 2 states(Arizona and Washington) at present that will pay a spouse to care for their marriage partner. Here in Illinois, there is a bill pending at the capital to enact the paying of spouses for caregivers. It is such a weak position these states take by deneighing spousal pay. They will pay any member of your family or stranger by not your husband/wife.

I was told that New Jersey would pay a spouse, is that not true?
