Pool party sounds fabulous!

I'm bored, I have to go out in an hour, but I have nothing to do until then

Still sunny here, I hope it lasts to tomorrow, it is windy though B)

I'm at work, but I've done all I had to do so now I am having a wee surf. I'm still annoyed that we've still not got our sun back. It must still be over London! At least it's not quite as cold as normal. As for the pool party, I could fire up one of or diggers and dig a big hole and fill it with water if anyone is interested.....

It's not physically possible to eat less than a whole bar at a time, is it?

Mmm never heard of this Green & Blacks stuff but I love chocolate and particularly love butterscotch!

Happy Friday! No two days off for me--Fridays, and the weekend are our busiest time at the shop. Though I think I'm gonna and ride my horse for a while this afternoon because it's so nice out so it's a good day to ride in the fields.

I somehow managed to fall out of my car today. Seriously. Stupidest thing EVER. I was getting into my chair, which does not have brakes. I have a Ford Explorer so it's kind of a tricky transfer. Long story short, I didn't hold onto the chair properly and it rolled away on me as I was getting into it from the seat, I was already in mid-transfer, and so I landed on my ass on the concrete like a retard. Some guy ran over to me and tried to help me up :P I checked and I already have a bruise on my ass. That sucks. I really think I may be the clumsiest girl on the planet.

Yeah, I'm always worried about any bruises I get on my butt. I guess because of the slowed circulation, they seem to take forever to heal and I once got a pressure issue that started out as a bruise. I'm gonna try take it easy this weekend and keep the weight off of that side of my bum. The bruise is directly on my right butt bone too. Not a good spot. I still can't believe I fell out of my own car.

Maybe that's why wheel locks were fitted to the chair when you received it.

Perhaps now would be a good time to re-think your decision to remove them?

By the way, this isn't you in your Explorer is it? Thought I recognised the hair & the long fingers
......... in which case, you fell the wrong way up !!!!!!

Wish you better fast.

:mfrlol: That's not me, my breasts are not that... gifted. I took the brakes off in order to easily switch wheelsets. On my old chair, I only had one working brake and then had no brakes for a while as well. It's also easier to do floor-to-chair transfer without the brakes I find--I can just sort of yank the chair under my butt as I'm going up. Though it's a pain in the ass to hold myself in place on a slanting floor or someplace that isn't level and I start rolling around.

Something funny as hell happened today. Some guy came into my shop wearing... get this... a black GARBAGE BAG with holes cut it in for his head and arms. With pink high tops. And nothing else. And no, he wasn't homeless or something. He was totally non-chalant about it too. Just walked in and started talking to one of the tattooers about some work he wanted done like nothing was out of the ordinary. Chino (tattooer) actually managed to talk to this dude totally seriously though I could tell he was trying really hard to hold it together, keep a straight face, and not piss himself laughing. I don't even think he had anything on under the garbage bag! Either way, I couldn't keep a straight face and had to go laugh by myself in the office. Chino told me he eventually asked the guy why he was wearing a garbage bag and the guy said he "felt like it"! Ah, the wonderous people that come into tattoo shops.

Yup, we're bbq'ing a beer-butt chicken this evening (usually use a Pepsi, though - as the Guiness Extra Stout is strictly for drinking and doesn't come in a can!) For those who have never tried it, thery're incredibly easy and unbelievably good! Aaaaaaah, seared flesh... :drooldrip: :drooldrip: :drooldrip: Usually char some peppers, carrots, and/or other veggies along with it. I bbq a lot! Prefer charcoal over gas.
 :hijack:

I saw something very upsetting this afternoon. I was driving home and noticed a car pulled over in the right lane with a guy on his cell phone standing in front of it. Then I noticed there was a cat struggling to get up and walk, which he had obviously just hit. It was awful. At least he was trying to help the poor little thing. As terrible as it is to say, it is so much more merciful if the animal that is hit is killed instantly and doesn't suffer. I started bawling my eyes out all the way home. One of the very few things that makes me cry is seeing an animal suffering and in pain like that. :)

We just have to move on, I guess. Would the cat have cried if it saw you when you got paralyzed? :)

Oh, who knows? The cat may have cared. :) Either way, I cared about the cat. And the guy who hit him cared about the cat as he looked all upset and was on his cellphone. I think it's terrible when people hit a cat or dog and don't give a shit and drive off.

I was 16 and just got my license had it maybe 2 weeks when a dog ran out in front of my old Buick, it happened right in front of the owner and their children. I did everything I could to stop.

The dog ended up losing a leg and I made some new friends that day. I took the dog to the vet and worked all that summer to pay the bill off. The owners of the dog were worried about damages to my car, I couldn't have cared less.

They told me not to worry about the vet bill but I felt compelled to. I still talk to the owners and have become good friends with them.

Going home from a company Christmas party about a dozen years ago, I saw two beautiful labs (one of my favorite breeds!) stranded on the shoulder next to the center divider on a freeway.

I pulled over to, hopefully, get them into my Jeep and take them to safety... Well, they approached my car with caution, as they were very scared. One of them went out into the traffic lanes to have a look around the side of my car and got hit. When the other saw his pal, he freaked out and bolted across the freeway, suffering the same sad demise. I was devastated!!! Here, I had tried to do a good thing, but it may have been exactly the wrong thing?

Only one of the drivers who hit a dog pulled over. Poor guy thought they were my dogs... I admire his courage to stop and offer to help. The other SOB, on the other hand, who didn't stop... I hope the devil got his license number!!! :partyhat:

Awww Dave, that is so sweet. You're awesome. B)

A la carte, that sounds traumatic. I luckily have never hit an animal, not even a squirrel. My ex husband and I almost hit a raccoon several years ago but he managed to avoid it and the thing ran off. Oh yeah, last month in Mammoth, my friend hit--or almost hit--a squirrel but I'm pretty sure it also ran off. I've only witnessed cats (never a dog) being hit. Did you guys see that video that was all over the internet a few months ago about a dog being hit on the freeway and the other dog dragging it to safety?? I couldn't watch it. That sort of stuff really upsets me and I would have thought about it for weeks.

Yeah, I'm always worried about any bruises I get on my butt.

Mims, I REALLY think that bruise should be looked at. CLOSELY.

I was gonna be in your area, had to see some guy about a uhh, umm.........
Well anyway, I was gonna be in your area real soon and thought maybe I ought to have a look see. Just in case.

You know I'm a renowned expert in such matters and we can't let something like this go on for too long.
Set aside a few hours next day or two. Examinations such as these can take a very long time you know.

Not just the bruise itself, but the entire surrounding area must be palpated with the utmost diligence, using a well practiced hand and
only the gentlest of touches. Ya can't even use gloves, that's how precise this kinda thing is.

Already got my ticket so you can expect to see me REAL soon.
Oh, and uh, should I bring the Tequila or do you already have some?

E :swordfight:

Sheesh! You guys blame me fer writtin' this crap! I see a post about a bruise right there on what must be one of natures most exquisite locations and you expect my fingers NOT to head for the keyboard? Hell, I couldn't have stopped 'em even if I wanted to.

Its hot, I have no A/C, I am out of oxycodone I have suffered a massive data loss thanks to the kids I live with, and I haven't had any work in almost a week.

BUT! if I could accompany the dawg to T.O. and learn the ways of bruise inspection it might cheer me up! :)

E :)

Sheesh! You guys blame me fer writtin' this crap! I see a post about a bruise right there on what must be one of natures most exquisite locations and you expect my fingers NOT to head for the keyboard? Hell, I couldn't have stopped 'em even if I wanted to.

E! You have officially riled me up! In a GOOD way. :dev:

Its hot, I have no A/C, I am out of oxycodone I have suffered a massive data loss thanks to the kids I live with, and I haven't had any work in almost a week.

BUT! if I could accompany the dawg to T.O. and learn the ways of bruise inspection it might cheer me up!

Hell yes. I would be quite happy being 'inspected' by cutie pies. :dev:

That bruise is turning a not so pretty color though, unless you think greeny purple is attractive! It was also really hot here today, like up in the 80s (see, I am getting better at figuring out the farenheit equivalent of celsius!) but we've had some crazy wind today and over the weekend. It has been blowing down trees and telephone poles. The guy who's backyard faces mine had this weird giant tarp/tent set up and the wind ripped it down and started blowing it around. It has all these metal poles in it which could easily have broken his windows if they hit it and the thing is the size of a small house. I guess he got a little freaked out because he ended up calling the fire department to help him with it.

Um Mimi, when your bruise gets to the itching stage, I'm available for those last few mandatory massages and scratches...hehehe.
Only after we have lost everything, are we free to do anything.
