Tonight my buddy took me on a ride on his motorcycle. He has spent time thinking of ways to keep my feet on the pedals (he has one of those Suzuki crotch rockets), and fashioned this whole velcro/emergency release system and it worked like a charm! I should post about it over in the Motorsports area, take some pics of it or something. I clung to him like a monkey on his back, especially during those tight turns (poor guy had my full weight on his back, haha) but it was DEFINITELY not boring. Nothing quite like going super fast on a bike like that, hoping I don't lose my grip on him and go flying off. Kinda makes you feel reallllly vulnerable.

Yeah, he's a good dude. And he was definitely concerned about safety first. He kept checking on the little foot straps as we were riding every time we were at a stop light, went easy at first and then zoom zoom we were flying, zipping between cars, all kinds of fun stuff. I'm actually impressed with what he came up with. He put some thought into it over the last few weeks! He made this pulley system type of thing out of the velcro that in case of an emergency AKA crash landing, I would just pull on the long piece that was sitting on my lap (hard to describe) and it would release the velcro straps around my feet. Quite ingenious, really. It was definitely amazing and I was holding on so tight to him--literally like a monkey on his back--that at one point, he said he couldn't breathe haha. I trusted him to keep me totally safe otherwise I wouldn't have gotten on with him. Getting on and off the bike was a little dicey because it was just the two of us. If we had someone around to help stabilize the bike while he lifted me up onto it, it would have been waaaaaay easier. Now I wanna ride every day! I think I looked pretty badass in the fullface skull-flames-etc helmet and one of those racing jacket thingies (WAY too big for me!) that he made me wear. Oh, and the gloves. Had the gloves on too. :mfrlol:

There is nothing like a beautiful woman hanging onto your back while riding. It is something I miss, very deeply. Sounds really dorky but I put my leathers and boots on when I need a pick-me-up.

I believe this thread should be closed due to inappropriate posts. The topics discussed here are far too interesting.... Mimi riding a motorcycle, Scribs' PAs in bikinis, Clara's exploding bread, Dave threatening to wear a bikini, Monty Python, Qbounce trying to make his wife legal, Scribs' thought for the day, Trin's and Simon's gin and tonics, and the list goes on.

Now, dusty keyboards............ that's an appropriately boring topic. Keep up the boredom Nomis!

On second thought, boredom has it's place and should continue to be discussed. How about starting a thread titled "The Incredibly Interesting Thread".

 Indeed. Well, he was all worried that my foot/leg would somehow end up on or touching the muffler and burn me because it gets so hot and I wouldn't know it but all was good. At one point, he noticed the strap on my right foot was loosening so we had to pull over and fix it but other than that, no issues. He started off taking slower turns to see if I'd, um, STAY ON, hahha. But like I said, once he realized that no way was that monkey on his back going to come off, we were off and running. It tripped me out how vulnerable I felt at first. I was looking at these other cars all around us and recall thinking that if one of them jumps in front of us and hits us, there's NOTHING but our helmets, jackets, and gloves protecting us from the concrete. A spooky thought. Especially when he was going fast. And thank god those helmets have the visors that you can pull down because the wind whips against you like crazy. I can't wait to do it again.

I now want a two wheeled crotch rocket bike and a motorcycle license! :soapbox: I actually have just heard that there is a new bike (or some kind of addition that you put on one of those Suzuki type bikes) that someone has adapted for para people. It has some kind of robotic bit that comes down and replaces your foot action when you're at a stop light, etc. I need to google it to find it for you guys. It sounds REALLY cool. Not sure if it's even on the market yet but it's good to know that in the near future, we may be able to ride the two wheelers.

The dichotomy of the BORING THREAD is that I can go there and see BOTH topics, boring and interesting, posted at RANDOM. That's what makes it so FUN!! You never know what your going to read, and it keeps you coming back.

Now, starting a thread that's exclusive to INTERESTING only topics may very well KILL the ever popular BORING THREAD. I'm not so sure I'm ready to admit my life is all that exciting just yet. Even on a good day, I'm pretty sure that most high rollers would find my daily goings on rather dull . . . . . mediocre at best.

Now, off to eating a turkey & avocado sandwich. MMMMmmmmmmm

I find that avocados are very hit and miss. Sometimes you get one that just doesn't taste quite right, maybe like it's about to go rotten or something. But a perfectly ripe fresh avocado? Delicious. I don't like them warm either. I like them in salads. My, aren't we thrilling.

I love avocados. Had one for lunch in 2 fat salad sandwiches. Now I've got a wait for a few days for the next to ripen. The tension is killing me.
