I am sat here being very good and not winding up my partner who has told me not only will he not be going in to the procedure with me (apparently he's not squeamish but he's likely to become so very quickly) to keep me calm and happy while they poke me with a big needle today... but that he'd rather not hang around the hospital (doesn't like hospitals) and so will be visiting B&Q!
Can I call him once it's over and I'm ready to go home?
Guess I'll just have to take a teddy bear with me instead.

Maybe he's not really a wimp(we all are, just don't tell anyone)but maybe he's going to surprise you with a brand new set of tools for working on the Land Rover/motorbikes/car/anything.
Talking of Land Rovers, we just bought a snazzy new(ish) V8 Discovery automatic for me to drive. Thats when I'm not passing out and living in hospitals and stuff like that. I might post some pics when we get it, but it might be next month cos it ain't taxed.
And Scribs, you are allowed to feel old............you could watch CBBC for a bit to see if it makes you feel a bit younger.

I feel the new tools are going to be unlikely! He's with held me access to the axle stands for the past several months so that I couldn't "hurt myself" when working on my cars (because working on the cars when they are low enough to the ground to trap you by your chest is #much# less likely to cause pain
Passing out and living in hospitals? Good lord you do go to extremes to avoid driving a Land Rover! They're not so bad! Well okay the discos aren't my first choice of beast but I'm sure you'll get used to it. Is it for muddy play or every day driving?
I keep resisting the urges to get a Defender 110. I very sensibly brought a Volve V40 instead but there's something in my brain that tells me when I sell the Chevette Estate I'll have some spare cash around for another toy...

Nah, I love driving them. We had a td5 Discovery since new in 2003, but cos it's a manual, it was a bit tricky for me to drive just now. I managed it a couple of times. I nearly bought a td5 90 4 days before I broke my back(maybe if I had it would have distracted me from the stupidness that made me break my back, but we won't go there)and I would still love one, but the new one's are only manual. I think this will be kept on road only, maybe the odd muddy field or farm track. I tried to get in a Defender 4 weeks ago, and I nearly snapped myself in half again, so maybe not the best idea for now. Volvos are indeed sensible, and quite nice, but a Chevette estate? Cool car, but I think you could have more fun in a Defender. Chevettes make good rally cars though.
Not sure if this is all boring enough, don't want to get into trouble! Hope the epidural thingy goes well by the way.

I would never be able to own a land rover and not end up doing something silly and almost rolling it (disadvantage of having no fear or just being stupid?)
The defenders are rather - difficult - to get in and out of! I have to say getting into the Series 3 (now up for sale
ooh here comes my lift to the hospital. Hurrah!!

What do those four little black squares - was three earlier - under your avatar picture signify?
Is it like the dreaded "Black Spot" from Treasure Island ?

Not really sure, hope they're not life marks; the nine lives a cat has, if they are we are nearly half way

Well if I must...I confess, we have pineapples here in so cali, they wear jeans/teeshirts, bikinis, summer dresses all year round, they even get dressed up real fine like and attend concerts, plays, operas, even a ballet on occasion, and they often ride two-wheeled bikes, skateboards or roll along on rollerskates/blades; I hear they ride quads sometimes to, but I know nothing of those activities
As for Zendka's ride, I was in a rather deep state of meditation last night, was that a bike I was riding
