I think I've been demoted - I had a top of the range computer with 3D software and many shiny things...

... today my computer was given to someone else (who is now having to learn 3D so that he can use my computer!) and during the project meeting I was not given any projects (to assist) while everyone else seemed to be stacked out.

I don't feel good.

Yeah... and today we find out that without the software (read many shiny things above) on my computer... I can't actually do the few jobs left to me!
I've just been told to wait until Thursday when someone else goes on holiday so that I can use theirs to finish the job.

I keep waiting for the boss to request a "meeting" with me to discuss my future here.

I just found this and thought of you. Enjoy.

Here's a hug for you. i don't know if you have disability insurance where you work...but, if you do, documentation is the key to getting every penny later. -Sno

Thanks everyone, I'm just back.

I saw Mr Mclelleand (cant spell his name). His wife and mine both had cancer at the same time, so over the years we chatted personally. His wife died before mine.
I've not seen him since our wives died so we had a good chat, but he did most of the talking, in fact, I couldn't get a word in sometimes, but I think he was glad to talk to me.
It seemed quite strange that I went there to see a Consultant and ended up mostly listening.
I'm ok, just old age problems, which even AB's get.

Everyone wanted to know who the beautiful Zdenka was?.... I told them my Live In Lover.......Opps!!.. I meant Carer...
We're just baking some chocolate Coisannts.. (I cant spell that either)...... :)

Scribbs,
turns out spelling coissant isn't the worst of it. Apparently, I've never SAID it right either!
Damn French have a Monopoly on their own words, it seems.

But that's okay. On the other hand, they won't be visiting this site anytime soon, either--ha ha.

Security Cultural Differences.

The British are feeling the pinch in relation to recent terrorist threats in Islamabad and have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved."

Soon, though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross".

Brits have not been "A Bit Cross" since the blitz in 1940 when tea supplies all but ran out.

Terrorists have been re-categorized from "Tiresome" to a "Jolly Nuisance".

The last time the British issued a "Jolly Nuisance" warning level was during the great fire of 1666.

:) But fear not because there are still enough fish and chip suppers to keep the moral up.

I have four cars on my drive - my everyday Volvo V40, my play car Vauxhall Chevette, my restoration project a Vauxhall Viva HA, and another HA that is being striped for bits.

Unfortunately right now I have the "birth control twins" - a brother and sister combination who live a little further up the street. The eldest is 8 and austitic, the youngest (the girl) is 5 I think - and does everything her brother tells her too.
I spent yesterday with the lad showing him how the car works (he is car mad) for several hours.

Unfortunately today they are both climbing over the car for stripping pretending to be driving to France, my driveway is littered with the bits they have removed. Much fun for them but I am
a) suffering an awful headache which means I don't want to play
:P worried that their mother hasn't come to check on them once in the last three hours (my hedge is just high enough that she can't see over)
c) wanting to go out but that means leaving them alone in the car as THEY WONT GO AWAY.

Seriously once these two have their target set they will not leave it alone, I've had to resort to driving them to their house before now because I could not convince them to get out of my car (I was trying to put my shopping away) and having to get their mother to remove them (she struggles to control them - she had to peel his fingers off my car seat while he was screaming that he was going to break her wrist). As soon as they start playing on the green everyone magically abandons what they are doing and go inside - quite possibly to check that their birth control is working and to insist to their other half that they wont be making babies any time soon.

Please dear cripples - short of setting off the panic button on the Volvo (sets off the alarm) to scare them off (but run the risk of them deciding that setting the alarm off in future is a way of getting me to come out to play) how can I convince them to go away? Simply asking and explaining how dangerous it is for them makes no difference.

Much love me,
(Hiding in the kitchen)

Go tell the mum to get her damn kids off your lot or pay you twenty quid an hour for watching them!! :P

I have to add, if she IS naked, it really doesn't bother me!--hehe
I've become a self proclaimed nudist at home lately. Why put clothes on in the morning when I'm not going out that day? I just end up taking 'em off a few hours later anywaywhen it gets warm.

Luckily I took my chance to go out and lock the car doors and then duct tape the doors shut while they were off chasing the ice cream van down the road.

But naked when you're meant to be selling something? (And not sex or other naughty type words) I can't do nudist anymore. My parents treat this house as a drop in centre when they want a drink after having done the shopping.

I don't know if you have the like of it there,, but here we have an agency called Child and Youth Services, that looks to the protection of abused or as in this case, neglected children. A call to them stating a concern for the childrens welfare, will usually get a visit from a caseworker.

That may be enough to get the mother to take a firmer hand,,,,, but maybe not, as she seems happy to have you as a babysitter.

Yeah we do (and this is far too interesting for a thread like this). I just think the mother forgets how dangerous it can be for kids to be wandering around (especially with learning disabilities). We live in a very "enclosed" quiet street - with a wonderful large grassy area in the middle. I can imagine it being very easy to "forget" that you don't know you're neighbours as well as you'd like, or that people can just come in and out.

In the summer holidays all of the children play there but there is usually an adult in the front garden keeping an eye out.

As the car is dismantled it'll be more dangerous for the kids to be in (I've already locked and taped the doors to stop them getting in and hurting themselves) so I know I've got to have a word with her...

... and perhaps install some gates!

Perhaps I'm just paranoid?

Clara must be busy building a fence and gate.
Meanwhile . . . . . I'll sit here and wait to see what the next installment of, "Kids Are On My Junk", brings.

I went to therapy yesterday and practiced wheelies. The real, tippers off kind. It's never to late, right? Maybe I'll be taking 6" curbs soon.
Maybe I'll retire the tippers for good. Maybe I should just take it as it comes.

How does that work? :badmood: :soapbox:
GB, seriously? Okay, here goes, not unlike a USB cable you might plug into your camera and computer to transfer images, this is a cable that plugs into your camera, it acts just like the shutter button on your camera that you press to take a picture, only its on a two/three foot cord now.

If the camera is mounted on your chair, sitting on something; a fence post, window sill, your foot, the ground...your head, prefocus/zoom if you need to, sit back, don't touch the camera, push the button on the other end of the cable and...snap, picture taken, even while chuggin down a beer

These cables have extensions also, so you could set your camera in a remote place, hide the cable so as not to scare the lovely birds away, lay the cable on the ground, sit about the backyard chatting, drinking, sunning...when I'm up and about, I'll demonstrate its use on my 35mm digital.

The cool thing is, most small point-n-shoot digital cameras don't have this feature, the newer Canon Powershot G series does. I have no doubt that Canon did this for the discerning professional photographer...but, bonus for us, it's also a great feature for us non-finger-functioning folks, we may be a minority, not regularly thought of as mass market...thnx canon, at 500usd a steal, given its pro build and image qualities...amazing.

P.S. As they say a picture is...
