Scribbler and Nomis.. I am worried you two boys may have a little 'too much' free time, if you know what Im saying.

Where's Edog been? I havent noticed him posting lately.

Free Time!!! :) Whats that? I only post here in between decorating the whole house, digging the garden, doing the ironing and taking E-Dog for his walk... :)

I've not seen Gustifer posting for ages either Ches; maybe they've run away together.. :mfromg: A couple of gay queens in disguise all this time...

I know Gus moved last month from Florida to Arizona . . . mainly for medical purposes. I guess AZ has more funding as a state??

And E-Dog got out of the house. The owners were chasing him down, but got tired of tracking him all over. I've seen a few ''Lost E-Dog" flyers around the neighborhood now. Guess I'll keep my eyes open just in case he crosses my street. :)

I talked to Gus on the phone when he was in NM and he was going to contact me after he got settled. He's only about 30 miles Northwest from me in AZ. I'm sure he'll be back on soon.

Shall we put pixs of E-Dog on the Internet, or send out a BOLO? (They keep saying BOLO on NCIS, but I haven't worked out what it means; APB was easy)

Well, well, well, see what happens when someone takes a little break. Rumours start spreading and :dunno:

Scribs, I just knew you couldn't keep a secret. The biggest instigator of all . . . hmm! Good thing my guests are out playing golf  and I just had this instinct I'd better check the forum to see how everyone is doing. I had a feeling that darn Scribs was up to no good.

So Scribs, I can't wait until you go on your little safari

No really, we do have better resources in AZ than FL for sure. Much better weather too. Gus' trip took a little longer than expected b/c he had to get some repairs done on the way here. I believe it was a couple of weeks ago, we talked so I know he's in AZ now, but it takes a while to get settled and back on your routine, but he sounded really great.

Ches is right we are such a tight knit group. I feel like I have so many brothers and sisters. But Scribs, I'm still trying to figure out what part of the family you are. Let's see . . . . the uncle-in-law (not related by blood of course) who likes to chase around all the young ladies and terrorize them. Yes, yes, I do believe that's it! :dev: Just teasing my dear friend.

Now E-Dog just might take some investigation. I think Bouncer should take this one over since it's pretty much your "Hood." He's probably out trying to swipe matching spoon for the one he "accidentally" took from the antique shop.

Here's one for Encyclopedia Trin - Hubby's cousin is visiting and her BF is a Smokey. Do you know what that is?

Darn it Hapa, I knew you'd discover my real motives for joining thia forum.... :w00t: As for a 'Smokey'! There' a place in Scotland (I've forgetten the name, but Trin will know) where they are famous for their 'Smoky's'....... Its a smoked fish...

I'm sure everyone was dying to know that.... :(

I decided to take an executive descision and place the pencils rubber side up as it seems there could be a safety issue. Given the fact that this thread is so boring if I dropped off to sleep I could very likely poke my own eye out. This would be very messy, blood all over the key board etc...the noise of my screams would wake up my sleepng cats who would then start to demand feeding.

So it' rubber side up...sorted...or not?

Hang on.....

I have noticed that the pencils are different lengths..perhaps I should sharpen the longer ones so they are all the same. In fact I think I shall attend to that this very minute..

But wait ..some of the rubber ends to the pencils are more used than others which means they are different so should I...

Catmint, I'm seriously concerned about your mental sate. All this phobia with your pencils; maybe you should just stop writing with pencils....

Oh damn, the rubber is wearing on my left pencil more than the right on; maybe I'm typing more with my left hand, so I'll slide my keyboard along to the left; or shuld it be the right.......

My Expert Diagnosis of Catmint.

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a chronic anxiety disorder most commonly characterized by obsessive, distressing, intrusive thoughts and related compulsions. Compulsions are tasks or "rituals" which attempt to neutralize the obsessions. OCD is distinguished from other types of anxiety, including the routine tension and stress that appear throughout life. The phrase "obsessive-compulsive" has become part of the English lexicon, and is often used in an informal or caricatured manner to describe someone who is meticulous, perfectionistic, absorbed in a cause, or otherwise fixated on something or someone.[1] Although these signs are often present in OCD, a person who exhibits them does not necessarily have OCD, and may instead have obsessive-compulsive personality disorder (OCPD) or some other condition.

Happa,
According to research, in the US Smokey's are indeed Officers of the law, however Urban Dictionary has a slightly different view.

Scrib,
smokies are indeed scottish smoked fish. Arbroath Smokies originated in Auchmithie, a small fishing village a few miles north of Arbroath, once populated with fisher folk of Scandinavian origin; 'Spink' is a Norse surname. Iain uses the same methods that were used in the late 1800's, as shown in the The fishwives originally smoked the fish in halved barrels with fires underneath, trapping the smoke under layers of hessian sacking. At the start of the 20th century the first Auchmithie fisher-folk began moving to Arbroath, and the process soon became known as the Arbroath Smokie, as we know it today. Only haddock can be used to produce an authentic 'Arbroath Smokie'. The fish are gutted at sea, washed and boxed ready for auction at the fish market. Once back in the fish house, they are headed and cleaned, or 'sounded'. They are then dry salted in tubs for a given period. This helps to draw excess moisture from the fish and toughens the skin in preparation for the smoking process. The length of salting time depends on the size of the fish and how fresh they are (amongst other factors). After salting, they are thoroughly washed off, then tied by the tail in "pairs" and hung on sticks. The smokie pit is then prepared. A hole is dug in the ground, and a half whisky barrel is set into it. The base of the barrel is lined with slates to protect it, and a hardwood fire of beech and oak is lit inside. The sticks of fish are then placed over the pit and the hessian cover allows the fire to breathe and maintain the required heat. The number of layers and dampening of the 'cloots' depends on the weather, and may be adjusted throughout the smoking to prevent the fish either smoking too quickly and burning, or smoking too slowly and drying out. The cooking time is usually a minimum of 30 - 40 minutes but only an experienced smokie maker knows exactly when they are ready.

As I replied about the OCD much earlier on, my sane advice at this stage (notice I DIDN"T say POINT-hehe) would be to get RID of the damn pencils! I stopped using those messy thing when number 2 pencil tests were no longer in my vocabulary.

Pens with BLACK ink all the way for me . . . the click kind, NOT the cap ones. Caps tend to get lost, then the pens roll off whatever surface they're placed. And we all know what a pain in the ass it is to have to constantly retrieve a pen from under a table, sofa, bed, or wherever you choose to pay bills, write dirty novelletes, or nasty letters to congressmen. Sometimes the latter two are interchangeable.

But, yah . . . pens. Just ask Monk.

Trin, I do believe you are trying to corrupt me with that Urban Dictionary :poo: However, you are correct that Smokey is an officer of the law, specifically a St. Charles County, Missouri officer.

Although Scribs you had me thinking that my cousin-in-law might be dating a smoked fish. I did sense a strange odor coming from that wing of the house. I like to give my guests privacy so I never venture down that way while they are staying here. It could've been the aftermath of our dinner at a Mediterranean Restaurant or lunch on a boat docked on a lake by the mountains.

Bouncer, pens dry out so quickly and pencils don't. I have about 40 ink pens and today I tried to write out a check and one by one they went into the trash can. Couldn't get one to work at all. I believe retractable pencils are the way to go. Well, not for writing checks of course, but as far as anyone who likes to use pencils, the retractable will always give you a good point and there are some on the market that aren't difficult to load and click. Hubby uses one for his football bets each week.

I do hope this was boring enough. I believe I've managed to bore myself and that's almost unbelievable b/c I'm so entertaining. HA!

We'd better put out a BOLO on qbounce's pens which keep escaping..... Its sounds like a case for the Fed's... :crash:

I'd llike to make a 'Point' here.. Ooops!! :lmao: That pun again.. None of my pencils have 'points' as I don't use them to write with. I use them upside down and type with the rubber/erasure end...

Maybe I could come to some arrangement with catmint, I will use the rubbers/erasures for typing and she can sharpen the end to a point to write with. This would help with the Credit Crunch, plus also Save the Planet.

I think thiis hould be discussed at the next G7 Summit Meeting as its of Global Importance...

Monday. You've got a Monday. You're so lucky. Here, it's Tuesday. We didn't get a Monday yesterday - I didn't notice it. It was called Labour Day and everyone had a holiday. I think Labour Day is something to do with feminists. You'd think having a Mothers' Day was enough but no, they've got to have a day for their troubles giving birth. So they stole our Monday. I say treasure your Monday cos at least you have one. You are so lucky lucky lucky (thank you Kylie). Hullo, is anybody out there. Hullo. Poo.

Wednesday! It's almost over. Luverly sunny day. OK Scrib. Let's have a race. First to Thursday. Currently it's 8.05pm Wednesday here, less than four hours to go. So, if you're thinking of going to bed, forget it. You get busy pushing that time along cos you're already 12 hours behind -- uh oh, we're on daylight saving, so that puts us an hour back - call it 11 hours. C'mon you slow coach. Hey, this stuff really qualifies for this thread, doesn't it.

Manda, here at the beginning of time, we've just said a cheery goodbye to winter and spring has sprung:
