I am now starting to feel signifcantly better. I even feel like eating. I have heard of the B.R.A.T. diet so I'm going to give a banana (the B!) a try and see how my body reacts to that. I'm feeling less lethargic and weak, more like myself. The poo issues were terrible. I'm not sure what worse, the vomiting or the poo. Having to clean myself up 3 times in 2 hours while feeling like Death was horrific, to put it mildly.

I definitely think it was probably gastroenteritis as my buddy was saying earlier. I looked up the symptoms and it's pretty much exactly what happened last night and this morning. So weird how suddenly things like that can come on.

Well Mimi, I was wrong... I was certain you would be fine. If it makes you feel any better, today hasnt been my finest either.

At the very least, you're that much skinnier now. You can actually eat an entire cake guilt free, to celebrate making it through such a rough day!!

Mimi and Ches,

Since you mentioned death and cake, I thought you might enjoy a bit of British humor

Haha, Ches, I know, I seriously think I lost at least 5 lbs in that stomach flu disaster. Ice cream cake, here I come!

I don't know what the hell is going on with my body this week. I have twisted or done something equally shitty to my right knee during a transfer. I have an old injury that is pre-SCI in which I tore the outer ligament in my knee. My knee is always popping in and out if I'm not careful during transfers and whatnot and last night, I heard a clickity click and some pops--which is not that unusual for that old broken down knee--but the thing has now swelled up pretty bad and I can't straighten it out on the bed or anything. I'm going to California in a few days and my whole body is falling apart! :dunno:

Knee is doing not-so-hot :) It's making an audible grinding noise when I pick my leg up and try to rotate it around or extend it. I still can't straighten it out on my bed without major resistance.

Hehe Jerry, thank you for the spare power chair offer. Right now I'd be grateful for a power chair since I have no energy, feel like shit, and have seemingly done something pretty bad to my knee. I wasn't able to get in to see my doctor today but spoke to a friend of mine who just happens to be a doctor, described the symptoms, and he said it sounds like I've done something to the cartilage but no one will be able to tell for sure without an MRI which will have to wait until I get back from California. At least I'm able to keep food down--though it's all still bland food--and have been drinking Boost. I look like a pale ghostly raccoon-eyed version of myself right now, heh.

I won't be in the L.A. area this time around--I will be up in the mountains--though I may be in Bolsa Chica in May and I will definitely be in the San Diego (La Jolla) area in the later summer! I would love love love to meet up with you guys, we'd have fun (and I'm trying get Ches to join me out in Cali too!) I'm supposed to be monoskiing next week up in a lovely mountain town (Mammoth) and hanging out with a friend but not sure that I'll be up for skiing every day now.

Qbounce, I think I speak American better than I speak Canadian :D . Most people would think I'm nuts for saying so but I actually prefer the USA to Canadialand and hoping to relocate to the US at some point anyway.

I'm usually really positive and upbeat but I am having a very hard thinking happy thoughts right now with all the health/body stuff that's happened this week. I actually just feel like hiding under my blankie and never coming out. There's only so much a person can take!

Mimi...hide under the blankets, keep warm, enjoy you mammoth trip, get your knee fixed, put a smile back in your heart and on that lovely face.

And, if you and/or Ches make it out this way...who knows, I may actually be rollin again...how about a picnic in the park or at the beach?!

Be well :)

Aww, I love picnics! I would be up for that!

Knee doesn't seem any better. I'm worried that, despite me taking some clonazepam last night, my legs were spazzing out in my sleep and doing more harm to it. I can't even get in to see my doctor, I'm hoping he'll be able to see me on Monday before I leave but I doubt there's anything he'll be able to do until I get back from Cali anyway. So many friends have said to me things like "Well, you're already in a chair, what are you so worried about?" :) Jeez.

Yay, I'm in a better mood than I've been in the last few days! The injured knee seems a lot better--swelling went down overnight. I'm going up into the mountains in less than 24 hours and I need to be healthy! The friend of mine who lives out there and who I'm visiting told me yesterday that the elevation is 8000 feet! Hopefully I'll be able to adjust to the high altitude really quickly.

If your sat in your wheelchair TO you'll be that bit lower..... :specool:
