I had a surgery gone wrong in December 2007. I am a quadrapalygic with an injury level at C4, C7-8. I am paralyzed from my chest down. People keep telling me "It's going to get easier" Well-I'm waiting! When does it start getting easier?

Sorry to hear about your mega-botched surgery. To be honest with you, it seemed to get easier after 2 years for me. An optimistic state of mind plays a big factor in the equasion, too. I hope you can see the light thru the tunnel very soon.

I don't know if anything gets "easier". Once you manage one aspect you're pushing yourself to take on some new challenge. But I think you start with lots of confusion and chaos trying to manage too much all at once. Once you had to look for projects to entertain your drive to solve problems. Now the problems come to you for you to solve. If you check it out you'll find your mind has rarely been so busy.

Hi, it doesn't get "easier" you just get used to your new situation and you figure out how to do things sitting down. Don't waste time waiting just start doing things you want to do and figure it out on the way. Good luck.

it doesn't get "easier" per se...you just eventually acclimate...tasks get easier as you learn easier ways to do them, you learn alot...but sci is what it is....as you become more independent, it actually gets harder...but as longhaul said "dont waste time" waiting for anything to happen, the sooner you get after it, the sooner you get used to it....definitely don't wait for ability to fall outa the sky....from here on out, you only get what you go after..nothins comin to you....
