I'm a little confused by your inquiry. I assume (dangerous pastime) your husband sits on a cushion of some sort? That being the case, I don't know of any way to tighten up the seat-sling to rest the cushion on. I use a 1/2" thick board to have a level surface for my cushion. If I use it just on the seat-sling, I get too much of a hammocking effect; sags in the middle and rises up, front to back, along the seat rails.
So unless I am unaware of some other device or methods, you have two choices: Cushion on bare seat-sling or cushion on seat board over seat-sling.
Anyone else have a suggestion?
Thanks for your help.
He sits on an American cushion called ISCHDISH.This comes with its own sagging seat infill,
obvious to be used with a sagging seat canvas. He would prefer to have a firm seat base ie wood,as he sits so much better on this, but has an intolernce to this after about one hour. Sweating ect.
He hooks on the back of his chair, right side so he can do more with his left hand (more movment in this hand) This does cause pressure problems on his left ishial.
He has done this for 34 years, and has been able to do more for himself by doing this, but it does
as i say have its drawbacks. It has been suggested he wears a chest strap, but that would restrict
his movement even more.
We found theISCHDISH on the internet a few years ago when he was getting red marks on his left sjde.IT really did sort the problem out. As he gets older things change,so we are feeling out what other people use
