My dad called me the other day and told me about "Rewalk", he said he researched it and found it to be pretty incredible....I watched the video of the guy walking like 10 times....it can't be that simple can it??? But I am very interested to see what happens when it become avalible to the general public in the US in 2009. I don't even wanna know how much it's gonna cost....the only down fall being that you have to have enough upper body strength to use the fore arm crutches.
here's another article that goes into a little more depth.

Please note: The ReWalk's user weight is carried by his legs, the crutches help him in keeping his balance.

Hi
Argo Medical Technologies Ltd. (www.argomedtec.com) is a young Israeli company which developed a unique prtoduct, called the ReWalk, which enables people of lower limb mobility disabilities (including paraplegics as a result of spinal chord injuries) to stand, walk and climb stairs.
The ReWalk is still in the development stage. It will be available commercially available in South America not before Q1/2010.

I was referring to one of my favourite movies - Wallace and Gromit in 'The Wrong Trousers'
:-) I'm just thinking the ReWalk would be not good for someone who has muscle spasms would it?

Don't think medicaid or medicare would come up with the cash, tho.
They might have some problems with liability insurance, here in the states. You can't cross a street with out rolling over a lawyer or two.
