First stop: 1 week at the Hotel Mijas in Mijas, Malaga. A very nice four star hotel with very pleasant staff, magnificent views and pretty location.

Mijas is high on the mountian overlooking Malaga. Its a small and very pretty locale with breathtaking views over Malaga and the sea, but it *is* on a mountain - the roads are steep - you'll either need a pusher, taxis, good upper body strength or a combination of all three.

The Hotel Mijas isn't desperately cheap - £450 for a five night stay, breakfast and taxes included. The room was clean and comfortable with a huge shower and plenty of room. The only exception is the Spanish don't have double beds - just two twins jammed together - urgh! The rest of the hotel is completely accessible. However, like much of Spain, the ramps are *very* steep and although I'm a very mobile wheelchair user, I would've found it extremely hard work without my boyfriend's help! All that aside, I'd recommend the place, it has so much going for it not least the staff.

Second stop: 1 week at the Finca la Guzmana near Ronda. A very pretty and cosy guesthouse just outside Ronda.

Ronda is a very interesting, very pretty town about an hour and a half from Malaga. Lots to see and do and I'd recommend exploring it and the area around it, whatever - although, once again, a helping hand would be a benefit to most wheelchair users. The guesthouse is about 5 minutes from Ronda by car and is extremely comfortable. It is fully accessible with the use of portable ramps, although the car park *is* quite deep gravel. There is also a swimming pool, but no hoist although very wide, shallow steps make it reasonably possible to do. Be prepared to chat to other guests as you'll share a breakfast table and the rest of the setting is quite intimate, too.

Finca la Guzmana was £80 per night including breakfast and taxes.
