I've been stuck at home for a little while recently so I found myself trying out Second Life for a bit of social interaction.

It's a fun game to play, and allows you to avoid real life for a little while.

Anyone else play?

There's no real point to the game. It's just a means of meeting people from around the world and chatting, basically. Some people spend ages creating amazing worlds that you can visit, whilst other hook up for pixelated sex (once you've bought some genitals). Personally I just fly around breaking into peoples' houses so I can use their hot tubs.

Ooo nice Avatar.

I pop into 2nd life every so often. Thing I find though is because of the time difference the whole place is empty when Im there.... or maybe they just know Im coming.
Anyway Im Elko Jarvinnen so you can look out for me too.

Hi Lucy,

I will add you to my friends list, so look out for me.
Being in the UK as well I also suffer from the time difference problem. Most of the places I go to are deserted (hence why I can use peoples hot tubs :mfrlol: ).

I modeled my avator on myself. LOL. I wish I was that sexy!

I'm laid up with a pressure sore. This sounds intriguing, but I'm already enough of a computer zombie! lol

Guild Wars for me (sort of a poor mans World of Warcraft - no monthly fees), have been playing online role playing games for well over 10 years now, how sad is that :-) Even sadder is that my kids are so far ahead of me now in the virtual world that I now have to ask them for help and advice. If my 12yr old knew his maths and science even one quarter as well as he knows the intricacies and tactics of the online games he plays he'd definately be a future rocket scientest.

Did have a quick look at second life - it did at a quick glance seem like a cross between the sims and a cyber sex chat room LoL but the business model of drawing you in and then charging for access to the more 'interesting' areas of the game on a per upgrade basis seemed like it could get very expensive very quickly but it was a quick look and I may be wrong. Looked like it coud be quite addictive though, I'm just too mean to pay for online access.
