No answer...but I just wanted to say......good for you joining this forum. My son injured Jan 2008, 20 years old is also adjusting to this new dimension of life and I only wish he could join the forum and realize that he is not alone. That there is hope, the possiblites are endless!

Are there any words of wisdom with just a little more time post injury?
Do you live with family?
Caretakers?
I am trying very hard to do what is best for my son while letting him be as independent as possible but find the line is very thin................
Peace be with you!

Thank u for your kind thoughts.

I can definately say things dont happen as fast as we would like them to but.......Doctors said i wouldn't move anything from my neck down, they were wrong.

I have feeling into my buttocks i can feed myself, do my make-up, my wrists do most of my hand control. I'm hoping for the fingers.

My accident was sept. I was in the hosp for a month, then rehab, then home where my mom is full time care giver.

Thank god for family. First few months I didn't think I was gonna make it in and out hosp. Uti's, pneumonia, all that fun stuff. I couldn't even cough or sneeze, I can now, geeezz the little things we take for granite. I can sit straight for decent amounts of time. I exercise my arms, ohh i also had a bedsore from in rehab stage 4 that is gone thanks to mom and the fact she was a nurse previously so if anyone needs help in that area.

Umm therapy is tough but i graduated to transferring and lifting up my own legs, it is very tiring i have good days but im not going to lie, i have more bad the thoughts that go through my head are unreal what if? Why me? And my favorite, where can i get 45,000 dollars?

My family is great, my mom can be a bit much, but this effects everyone, so as far as your son just keep being mom , has he had any recovery?

If you need someone just to share your thoughts and feelings from your side of it you can talk to my mom.

Thank you

Manda.
