had pump for 4 weeks now and all going well until this morning when i noticed a raised lump on my spine where the incision was made on my back. bit odd.
decided to ring my spinal injury centre and sent them a photo of said lump.
get a call back from a doc saying 'oh don't worry, its probably just a csf leak where we put the pump in'. 'nothing to worry about'.
oh, right, cool that sounds totally normal. NOT. wtf?

anyone else experienced anything similar following pump surgery? as it doesn't sound/look fantastic to me and i'm commencing minor bumming out about it procedure.
thanks.

ok. just read simon's pinned topic.
slightly less worried.
still, nothing for 4 weeks now this??

Hi,

Did your doctor give you an elasticated binder to wear for when you get up?

It may be worth a go, as it will help slow the leak down.

If the leak doesn't heal itself, and you start to get CSF around the pump, along with increased spasticity and headache, call your consultant, and ask him about a blood patch.

Regards

Simon
