Well, it’s going on 3 months now having loose stool that won’t stay inside. The worse has been the last three weeks. I've been fighting UTI's since November and didn't have a problem until 6 weeks after my Hemorrhoid surgery back in March. So pretty much has been having accidents since early May. This is odd for me since I went 15 years without any problems just going Monday and Thursday nights. I maybe had 5 instances the whole time. Anyway, had a bad chest cold early July that sent me to the hospital that exasperated my situation by giving me a strong IV antibiotic that killed my good bacteria in my bowel. It was really loose then and has since started to firm up again but stays like peanut butter. It has no smell, thank God! I'm taking probiotics to help bring back the good bugs and had luck without any accidents last week but again I'm fighting an UTI that Cipro can't treat so since 7/29 I've been on 875mg of Amoxicillin 2 times a day and wham! I started messing myself again. Pretty sure that's why. So, now I'm stuck home, sitting on a pad with a towel over my lap because if I go in my pants it makes a bigger mess to clean up. It's comfortable but I don't think I'll be rolling into Walgreens in my attire. So, I WANT TO CONSTIPATE MYSELF until I get through this. Very frustrating to the point where I'm thinking about getting a poo bag. I rather be constipated than this. Constipation is easier to deal with. PLEASE HELP!

Ask your doctor to change your antibotic, I have the same problem with Amoxicillin and I do not think you will be able to have a normal stool untill you stop taking it.
I got back to normal quite quickly after I started a new antibotic.

If I fall out of my wheelchair in the woods would anybody hear me?

My husband doesn't take anything but pain meds, which would usually clog the pipe and also diazepam for muscle tightness and spasms. He had the same problem where everything he at went right through. This caused weight loss as well as not having much of an appetite. It's been a vicious cycle, b/c he didn't want to eat since it went right through, but he was losing too much weight. He would take Imodium but that's not good to take all the time. I know if I took one drop, I'd be stopped up for a year.
So, finally asked the Dr. about what to do. Doc gave hubby some samples of Probiotics and this is the good bacteria you need to straighten out your system. When the samples ran out, I ran up to GNC and got a bottle that contained 10X more than the pills the doc gave. Hubby takes one a day along with a banana smoothie (bananas stop you up) and he's been doing fine.
Ask your Dr. to be sure it' won't interfere with other meds. Good luck.
