SO I GET THIS PHONECALL FROM THIS DOCTOR IN CALIFORNIA ABOUT STEM CELL AND GOING TO THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC FIXING ME AND MAKING ME WALK AGAIN BUT I NEED 30,000 TRANSFERED INTO AN ACCOUNT 13 DAYS BEFORE I GO FOR THIS PROCEEDURE NOW PLEASE DONT THINK IM IM STUPID I JUST DONT KNOW WHAT TO BELIEVE DID ANYONE HEAR OF THIS DOCTOR RADER I KNOW THERE ARE QUACKS OUT THERE I JUST WANT SO BADLY FOR NOT JUST MYSELF BUT FOR ALL OF US TO HAVE A MIRACLE ~Manda

Thats all the doctor said.. Just a quick call for 30k.. Sounds fishy to me. Stem Cells surgeries are out there, but Im not sure how often a random doctor calls up an SCI looking to book appts.

Have you given your number out to anyone new lately?

Would hate for you to get cheated.

My advice. Skip the surgery, take the 30k and go to a recovery center. No promises there either tho.

Seems this guy is targetting people with a variety of neurological disorders, in particular ALS. There seems to be no hard evidence to support any "cure" at this time. I suggest you have a look at this link which is the discussion about this doctor on the ALS forum.

If I were you Id take your settlement and spend the money on things that will really improve your life not waste it on some desperate hope. When news of a breakthrough in stem cell research comes it will be from trusted researchers who have spent a lifetime looking for the answer like Dr Wise Young, not some unknown. (shes says politly).

Anyone that asks you to wire money two weeks prior to the surgery in a poor foriegn country should be closely investigated.

I would like to thank all of you for all the helpful information,also your own comments on the situation.I kinda knew in my heart that this was to good to be true,My mom said we will know the real deal when it comes.I'll try not to come off so harsh next time ha ha Once i start on a full tilt rant I didnt notice,it did seem like I was yelling but my bark is much worse then my bite ha ha ~Manda

I travelled through the Dominican Republic in '04' and this one guy only took me for about $50 Dollars (long story). But reading this, I OBVIOUSLY don't feel so bad!!-lol Go ahead Manda, make my day, hehe. :Birthday_Balloons:
