Has anyone heard of a neurogenic bladder that will permit you to press some kind of button and you will urinate on command? Like some sort of electrical muscle stimulaters surgically place around your bladder? please if you have any information about this, please respond. Thanks for your time.

A neurogenic bladder is a condition. Although I am not familiar with any type of treatments like you describe, but I found an informative website with which you may get some good information. (Simon, I hope it's allright to post this link)

It's to the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center's College of Medicine's A to Z health & disease site.
Good Luck!

I agree!! I have a (flaccid) neurogenic bladder and that just means that it does not work properly... The muscles are not responding to internal bladder signals and either is flaccid or spastic... It is important to know which type of bladder you have!! The treatments for flaccid bladders is completely opposite of a spastic bladder... What were the results from your Cystourethrogram and Cystometrogram?? As far as I have been told there are no treatment other than medications to help control spastic bladders or medications to help induce bladder movement for flaccid bladders, self cathiterization, supra-pubic catheter (surgery) for people who can not self cath, and urostomy (surgery) for peopel who have continued problems with there bladder or other problems... If you can find the name of the treatment that you are interested in then please let me know and I will try to find out as much as I can!! My urologist is very good and up to date... He is a great ally to have!! I hate having a supra-pubic line so let me know!!
Here is a link to clinical trial sites that may be of interest to you..

Don't know what it's called but a friend of mine has an implant, he gets a box of tricks out, puts it against his implant and then rolls off to go pee without catheters. Kinda neat, not sure why it's not better known.
I'm pretty sure this it what it is http://www.jyi.org/v...res/shobab.html
There seems to be a few articles about similar (or the same) things doing a google search if you want to troll through them all google search on bladder implant sci

That sound very similar to something I tried a few months ago. http://www.srsmedica...oductLitENG.pdf
This one is only for females though. It was only in for 28 days. The good thing about it was there was no surgery. The bad thing about it was the size!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 24FR! Very very glad I coulnd feel that!!! I only did it for a trial, and I cant have it permently in this country.

These are some very good reads people! I was reading the site that russ1 posted and it sounds excellent! I love the idea of getting rid of my catheter all together and decreasing my risks for UTI's and also kidney related problems. It seems to me that if they have a device that will make your muscles mimic the act then you are working those muscles every time you eliminate. This is a great way to keep your bladder in shape and also help the muscles stay toned in case you may get some or all of those functions back!
I also read the site that ems has and it also looks promising. I am not sure I like the idea of exchanging my internal catheter for another internal device, however love the idea of being able to permanently stop the flow of urine. I know my flaccid bladder loves to leak out when ever it wants and the idea of having a closing valve is awesome. I also love the idea of not having to have surgery to put have implants put.
I wish they could combine the two idea's and come up with one really cool device that does both, but that won't happen because there is no way to close the bladder off without having some sort of device in your urethra!
I am going to do a lot more research into both of these systems though!
If I find any useful information I will be sure to post it!
Cheers!

Not sure if this will help (didn't read content of entire string) -
FES (functional electronic stimulus) for the bowel/bladder is not being performed in the US at this time ... except for some experimentation. Other countries, however, do - India, China, more. Google it for more info. FES is used with amputees with relative success.

A lot of those devices mentioned above seem very similar to what my Dr wants to try with me... Its Called InterStim
http://www.medtronic...euro/interstim/
I am not convinced it will be much help but he says it is worth a try so who knows....
