i am so sick of this, it seems like i could go a week with the routine working, and then bam! a week of crapping my pants.

I hate it, its so damn embarassing. and i hate wearing a "brief" (why dont they just call them what they are) :dev:

i know it takes time but it still bothers me.

Dave.

Hi Dave,
Sorry to hear you're frustrated about your bowel routine. May I ask how long ago your injury was? Not that it will comfort you that much, but I don't think the diapers are noticeable under clothing. The fact that the man I am interested in has to wear them does not bother me in the least. He's still very attractive regardless of what he is wearing. If you're with a person who is not shallow, it won't be any problem to them.
Best of luck with everything.

Nothin' like a good pants crapping to make my day by gum!
Especially in church, or when the woman of your dreams finally sez yes to a dinner date or maybe when yer skinnydipping in your friends
parents pool. How bout on a job interview? Or in an expensive clothing store when you're trying on a new pair of pants.
Ah, nothin' like incontinence to make being an SCI that much more fun.

E-dog, you always seem to make me laugh, even when im ready to strangle people.

My injury was april of this year, so alittle over 5 months. im just getting mad at the whole damn thing. i get mad at being 24 and wearing a diaper. my fiance doesnt mind it at all, and she's really helpful and supporting.

i love it when im standing and walking and smell something, its either my son or me, and 80% of time its me.

We are having trouble potty training my 3 year old, he see's me peeing in a urinal, and wearing a diaper and ask why i cant "be a big boy and poop on the potty"

Hi Dave,
I share your pain. I had a bowel program that I had been doing for years and for the most part, it was 75% effective. Heck, I was happy with that. Then my doctor suggested I do the program every day. Well, the effectiveness dropped to about 40% and that really stunk!! Literally!! :lmao:
So now, I am back to every other day and 75%. Works for me, but I really understand the inconvenience of "accidents". At least when I'm with my dogs, I can blame the stink on them. :lmao:

Hang in there Dave.

Nothing personal to anyone........but I had a colostomy and was fortunate enough to have it be reversed. I know this is not always an option. But as much as I hate the bowel issues, I wouldn't trade back to a colostomy for anything. It's a MAJOR operation and a HUGE decision. Think it over wisely as with any BIG decision beforehand..........especially IF you have a choice.
Take Care,
Stella

Why did I have it?

My intestines were reversed (going in opposite direction) when I was born.

Why am I glad it's gone?

A little more freedom. Although the bowel program has it's bad times, I'd just not trade. No bags, no leaks, nada. Plus, I am so self conscious as it is. Having less "extras" the better. As a small child & growing up, I knew I was different and all I wanted was to be like the other kids. Don't we all? Getting rid of the bag helped for me psychologically. But, that's just my opinion.
Take Care,
Stella

P. S. E-dog, does this answer your question? P.M. me if you have more questions to the wonders of the universe that you need answered.

being a t12 suppositories and all that arent effective so i do 'manuals'. which only takes a few minutes each time

2 things that have made things alot better are.

1. metamucil (fibre suppliment)
2. doing my bowels twice aday, (morning when i get up and night before bed)

the later has significantly reduce the problems i was having

now i only see to have problems every 6 weeks or so and usually in bed after eating something that "didnt agree" and even then i can often sense it coming.

diet is very important, i have gone right off currys and ricky foods, and i loved a good vindaloo.

I seem to be pretty good with once a day, but still have an off day every couple of months. Course,,, I don't use softeners, laxitives, or suppositories until it's been two weeks with no results.
