somebody said something earlier about taken advantage of movie tickets. I 2 would do that. I am a big baseball fan and because of the chair i was able to get tickets to all the whitesox playoff games including the world series. I don't feel bad, hell all my friends call me for tickets. I am a cubs fan and i go to about 12 to 18 games a year and I know i would not be able to get those tickets if i wasn't in the chair.
hey if anybody would like to come up and see beautiful wrigley field let me know- I love going and you get to park in the players parking lot

Hey! Finally...another Cubs fan! B)

We try to go to *beautiful* Wrigley field every year, but I've missed the past two since my SCI in '03.

The first year when we started going, we must've got lucky because we managed to get a parking space right next to the stadium at no cost...I'm guessing that's the area you're talking about...where the players exit the stadium? After that, we found out real quick that it had just been 'dumb luck' as ever since we've had to pay a small fortune for 'disabled parking', only to have a ten block walk to the stadium. :D

So you're from Chicago? I just love that city. Did you happen to do your rehab at RIC?

Ha! Well, it is a small world after all! I also live in Indiana...the very south-western tip, near Henderson, KY.

I was at RIC in '03 as well, but it was in July-August...I thought maybe we might have known each other. Did you have/know Dr. Ondra? I loved the therapists there...they were very thorough and helpful.

What a crappy way to spend your holidays though. :D I hope things are going well for you now, and this Christmas will make up for the one in '03.

We started laughing so hard tears were frozen on or face. Sometimes when we are having one of those days we bring that up and it always makes things a little better. I live in hammond. I think I was on the 4th floor, if memory serves me right.

I believe we drive through Hammond on our way to Chicago. Isn't that near Munster? I used to know someone from there.

The reason I thought I might have known you is, there was a young man there who went by the nickname of "Meat"...a kind of arrogant, but good-looking kid, who I grew to like. Your username made me think it was him...sounds like something he'd choose for a name. :D

But back to your orginal question....I wasn't aware that those with disabilities could get discounts on movie tickets, etc. So how do you go about getting those Cubs tickets anyway? I'm not too proud to take advantage of that!

my wife gave me that name whwn I was in the hospital, anyway Its really not taken advantage of anything because you don't get them cheaper its just the fact that you can actually get the tickets. I went to most of the cubs vrs whitesox games this year and that is a very hard ticket. I went to boston and was able to see them play the yankees on sunday night baseball that was so awesome. Let me know if oyu really want to go to a game. The handicap seats are right behinf homeplate
As far as the movie tickets somebody said something about inthe uk a disabled person can take a caregiver a friend for free. but i don't really know anything about that.
