hello,

some of you may know, im currently going through some changes of some sort which is so far not confirmed but suspected to be connected to my left hemiplegia after i was taken to hospital in july with my spine locked in spasm

the drs in a&e said my body is fighting my spine allignment,
my GP said becuase i also have hemi sensory disturbance (no sensation in my left side) which leaves me unable to walk properly and use a wheelchair my right side is over compensating and now right side is giving up on me

my right arm is now showing signs of that and i dont know what to do..i dont see spinal drs till 26th septemeber so i thought i would ask here.

i have no grip at all im my left, and the fingers and wrist crawls outwards, and wear a wrist spint and im now losing grip in my right hand, it just "gives way" ive dropped my dinner, ive smashed wine glasses, in a resterunt on thursday i dropped a glass of coke and my fork, and today i couldnt hold a kettle
im looking at buying a 2nd splint the same as i have on my left...i buy them coz its quicker than NHS.

has anyone else has this problem? im just so so confused right now

hmmmmmmmm..... well if your using your right arm alot, you might be leaning on it too much, as a sort of counterbalance for your left side. That can cause problems. Have you got any numbness in the hand or certain fingers?

Emma.

hi emma

i get intermitent numbness, doesnt happen often, and theres no warning of it either, i could be holding soemthing then it would just go "dead" sometimes seconds sometimes minutes,

i used to be on crutches, but havent been on them now since july, been wheelchair bound since. and use my right arm for eating, typing, writing, basically day to day things as i have no feeling or grip at all in my left so certinaly know if theres differnce in the right, its just quite upsetting me and not knowing is quite scarey
