Well, it took me a year, but I did what I've feared the most - I left home without my cathing supplies. What to do????? Then it occurred to me that I sometimes void during my program. So, desperation prevailed, I put the glove on and…it works. I was able to void without a catheter by pressing my finger on the inside of my leg/hip/whatever (that general direction).
My PT says it’s probably a reflex reaction. I’m wondering if it’s like a pressure point or something. Any ideas?

Don't know if this is any help, but I've used a condom cath system for over 40 years. My bladder reaches a certain level and then begins to empty. I also sometimes help it along by gently but quickly pressing on it to trigger my stomach muscles into tightening and helping to void. Depending on how full it is, I can also void some by slightly raising my butt off my seat cushion and balancing on my elbows for a moment or two. It kind of lets everything stretch out and encourages voiding.
