A little about me and why I sell the CURE PARALYSIS wristbands...
In February this year 2008, my brother had a serious motorbike accident which left him a Complete Quadriplegic. He is only 27 years old. His vertebrae was broken in 2 places at C5 and C6. His spinal cord was damaged but not severed. He has lost all motor and sensory skills from the chest down. This means that he cannot walk, and cannot use his hands.....EVER
He will eventually be able to use his hands, but not to the extent he did before the accident. He will never use his fingers again. He is working hard and is very determined to build upper body strength so that he can lift himself and help his carers on the day to day living that he needs help with. Every day is an improvement but what we need is the support and awareness to find a cure.
The only way to way find a cure is to raise money & awareness. If I wanted to make money out of selling these wristbands I would be selling them for $10.00, but instead I cover my costs and draw inspiration from the everyday people who have been buying these wristbands from me. I have sold over 100 wristbands and with each transaction and I wonder if there is a story behind why they bought them...I have never taken off my band since the day my brother had his dreaded accident.
Please support us..its the only way!!!

How many do you have to wear to get a bit of movement back?
I don't care who ya are, that's funny right there.
Hey johnny, no results have been reported by just wearing "CURE PARALYSIS wristbands" by themselves, but if you pair them up with yellow Lance Armstrong "Livestrong" bracelets...who knows.
Build a man a fire and he'll be warm for a night. Set a man on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

And thank you for that - you must forgive the 2 forum users above, they are unfortunately as stupid as they are careless.
I have an idea of how your brother must be feeling... And I think you are doing something great.
I'll definitely look into those wristbands.

I'm so glad you started this thread. My husband is a quad C5,6,7 and he was very aggressive with his therapy. Most people think he's actually a para, but his hands are affected. When I met him, he was living at his house by himself and only had a cleaning woman to come in once a week.
My hubby was cathed in the hospital and the bowel program was peformed on him, but he was very determined not to have to do either one, which he doesn't. I'm sure some of it has to do with the aggressive therapy, but we all know everyone is different. I truly hope your brother gets very strong and is able to be mostly independent. You never know what can happen.
I'll look into the bracelets. I budget a certain amount a year for donations and most of it goes towards SCI research. In particular the facilities working with embryonic stem cells. I really do believe cure will be found soon and I hope enough money can be raised to make it happen faster.
All my best to your brother, you and your family.
