thanks for the website.......I figured that a zero turn hydrostatic would be the way to go...I guess the main thing would be getting a different seat and seat belt and then figuring out how to transfer in.....

Definately go with a Zero Turn mower. WAY faster than a regular riding mower.

Here is how I get on our Exmark:

Hi,
I am also looking for options for my Dad in regards to an adaptive lawn mower; however, he will require something like a sip & puff as he has no use of hands, arms or feet. Have any of you seen or heard of a sip and puff mower? They live on 40 acres and maintain about 3 acres of it on a reg basis. He would like to be able to maintain it himself if possible.
Thank you!

I switched from a tractor with hand controls to one of these: http://evatech.net/ about four years ago and love it.

Hustler makes some good ones, and all u need to adapt one is a rod for the deck raise/lower control, and maybe straps on the handles, depending on function. I use my mom's occasionally when I'm visiting. Just love to ride around on it.

Edited to add: You might need a sliding board for the ones with wider cutting decks. They leave a large gap between chair and mower seat.

Yeah, my hubby (c5-c6) uses a John Deere zero turn mower. We have to use his lift to get him on/off of it. But he does quite well. We put a chest strap and seat belt on the regular seat.
