We just booked a roundtrip flight on United for mid January from Cleveland to Maui for only $475. Last year a good deal was $670.

That's a good deal. Last time I was in Hawaii, we spent about $650 that was back in 1998.

Now Maui Airport doesn't take on the big commercial flights do they? I always thought you had to fly into Oahu first then jump on an Island hopper to go to Maui. At least that's how we did it.

Oh I loved lifting off just before getting to the end of the runway in the ocean - how cool.

When I started to go to Maui I had to hub through Honolulu which was a pain but about 10 years ago direct flights to Maui from the mainland began and this was sweet. Direct flights to Maui from San Fran, LAX, Denver, Vancouver even Chicago began and this has been great. Even got some good airfare specials happening now, we just booked Cleveland to Maui return for $475. Aloha Bruce
