Hi everyone,

I've arrived in Africa after a long, tiring and cold journey. The reason I say cold is due to the Air-Con on the plane being freezing. :) I wore my jacket, 2 scarf's plus 2 blankets but was still cold...... :censored:

The 1st place Eva & I are staying is fantastic. I am taking lots of pix, which I'll add when I get time; we have a very busy itinerary. It's 10 pm and we're leaving for Big Game very early...... Its so hectic, but i'm thinking of you all...

The 1st pic is of Eva, my PA's room; mine is the same, its ajoining.. :)

Good to see you putting your feet up in on that nice clean cream African chair. Still a lot of life left in the soles of those shoes.
So how come the flight was so cold - did you fly in a Tiger Moth?
Keenly interested in your next installment :)

Luxury is right. That certainly is a nice hotel room, definitely not Howard Johnsons. No jumping on the bed! :)
Post more pictures for us. Sounds like an interesting trip.

Scribs I had a dream about you last night. You were wearing a loin cloth and wrestling a lion (oh an anagram for loin) and Eva was video taping you as you defeated the beast. You put your foot on the weary creature and said, "This for Hapa." In a typical Johnny Weismueller voice of course. Eva was wearing a Jane outfit, but I was here in Arizona. :( No, I hadn't taken any meds last night.

Did this really happen or was it a dream? Hmmm . . . . :)

Hi again everyone and thanks for the messages.

After trecking through the bush for days on end... :) , without food drink or Internet... :mfromg: we are both exhausted...

We saw some great wild life, up close and personal........ with the sliding door of our vehicle pushed open; 9 foot from a Rhino with its 2 year baby is about as personal as I wanted to be....... :yikes:

I've taken Zillions of pix, but will add more when I can, plus write a full report; I'm off to wrestle a Nile Croc...... :toast:

Here's a few for today......

Scrib's & Eva (asleep)

Eva spotted this Giraffe before our Game Ranger, it just stood and stared at us...

This Bull Elephant came out the bush, crossed in front of us; made a 'mock charge', before heading off. The 'mock charge' was only 20 Rand... :)

Thought this was Nomis, but its a Vermot Monkey... :)

We had to keep doors and windows locked otherwise they'd get in and wreck the place... Maybe it was Nomis... :mfromg:

I get the impression they are making you pay quite heavily for everything, but it looks like it's worth it. :) Beautiful.

Scribs I thought my dream might have come true since it's been a while since we've heard from you. I figured you were just having too much fun.

Now I'm sure you were with the Zulu's for lunch, but Eva was able to talk them into eating vegetarian that day instead. :D

Great to see you having fun dear friend.

P.S. You didn't happen to get one of those Zulu outfits did you?

Looks like you're full on cramming in an ambitious programme. I'll forgive you if you're having too much fun to keep us up-to-date but it sure makes an exciting change from snails.

I understand you mistaking me for the Vermot but you'll note the lil'monkey keeps his hair much tidier.

We visited the Ushaka Marine World in Durban; it needs a few days as there's so much to see and do, which is all W/C friendly.

There's a large paved area where dancing goes on all the time; all free and arranged by the local gov dept.

I'm adding more photos of the vehicle and driver we had at our disposal... :wheelchair:

Scribs these pictures are fantastic. I might have to copy a few for my den that has an African theme.

You brave man, keeping those lions from Eva. Just wondering thought, if loin cloths are worn like kilts . . . hmmm. :blushing02:

How did my plan to slip into your suitcase fall through? I stretched and contorted myself for weeks in preparation. Oh well, maybe next trip. :dunno:

Sorry I couldn't get you into my case Happa, but they might think you're dangerous.... :)

Here is the next best thing, some more photos. Eva dancing with a Zulu boy, who was more interested in food than money.

Me Being brave next to the Beware of Hippo & Croc's sign.... :mfromg: Anything behind me????

Anything_behind_me.jpg

Eva sat outside the hut I slept in, which was very nice inside. There's also a photo of 2 Wart Hogs asleep outside; so I really did sleep with the pigs... :licklips:

My_Hut.jpg Wart_Hogs.jpg

The other photo is with Jennae, the lady who organised our trip, and her hubby JJ who's a C4/5/6. He's a great guy but struggles to sit upright, so we suggested a few tips. The support for SCI out there isn't as good as here in the UK, so he struggles to get even basic equipment. JJ has been injured 8 years.

We had a great evening together and even took him out with us the next day, which he enjoyed.

Once again, you saved Eva from the dangers of the wild all with your bare hands.

Eva is giving you that look b/c she caught you zooming in with your camera. :)
