Dear all

I have a question to ask of you and I hope I am approaching this in the correct manner.

My mother suffered from MS and as a child and teenager holidays as a family were just a no-no. Those we tried were often only accessible because there was a ramp at the door! I know that times have moved on considerably since then (1970's and 1980's) and I hope that there is now much greater provision for everyone, but the memory of those holidays linger on.

I now live in the Dordogne in France and I have the desire and the opportunity to build a couple of holiday homes that are not only beautiful but also totally accessible. Sadly, my mum lost her fight several years ago and whilst I can remember certain irritants for her I would love to hear from anyone about what they would love to see in a holiday home and also what they would not want to find!

If there is anyone who can offer me guidance or simply add their ideas I'd welcome your feedback

I'd be glad to help and pass on some ideas etc. I run an accessible holiday business and most of the properties are owned by wheelchair users, but designed to be "normal" holiday homes, so they can rent to everyone. The key is to get it right from the start, and not adapt after.

Do you have any architectural drawings, photos, etc that you can email me? This way I can give you some ideas and maybe photos.
