I think that some comedians loose it as they grow older, and they don't have new material and can only resort to stuff from their youth.

it was good, first half was ok - some lesser known characters, but 2nd half was excellent. he was as good as when i saw him in 1998.
coogan is a bit typecast as alan, and that what everyone generally likes the best. same with gervais and david brent etc

Actually, not really. I'm not a big fan of any skit-type or news imitation comedy.

Nope. Although, a better example of "news imitation" would be Countdown with Keith Olbermann.
While not a SNL fan, this is pretty damn good.
HuffPo link to Ben Affleck as Olbermann

South Park, the Simpsons and Family Guy fer TV.
If you never saw it, rent The Inlaws. The original, with Alan Arkin and Peter Falk. Frigging hilarious. The remake sucks big-time.

E-dog . . . . Serpentine Shel, Serpentine!!!! I
Alan Arkin is a great comedic actor. Catch 22, Slums of Beverly Hills, Little Miss Sunshine - I love that dry humor.
Looks as if we got a lot of George Carlin fans on here.

it's so well crafted.
The way each episode is weaved together is absolutely brilliant.
Cannot wait for the next season.

Having said that I do like Scottish humour, Billy Connolly of course and the series Still Game is totally hilarious. Bbc Scotland does produce some great humour but a lot of it never get shown down south.

Wow, this was a drudged up thread, but I'm with Curby on this one, as well as the 'ol classic, SEINFELD. Just brilliant writing.
Now it's THE OFFICE. I only caught the British version once or twice and loved it too. It's just never on here.

Stephen Lynch, John Pinette, Ben Bailey, Jason Byrne, Marcus Brigstocke and Sean Meo have also done some decent stuff.
http://www.theworldstandsup.com/ Contains clips from all these guys and more, if you've watched it on Paramount before you will have seen most of them anyway but still some good stuff
