Excited Over Strange Things (or So Says My Friend) Rate Topic: -----

Ok, I have been with my boyfriend for 7 months now. Last week he let me take out his cath. for the first time. This is the first thing that I have really done on my own other then turning him in bed. When I came home from my weekend at his house I called my friend and said "OH MY GOD GUESS WHAT!!!! I Took out his cath." I was so excited...smiling ear to ear... and then she said to me "Your excited over that?? Your so weird"
Is it so wrong for me to be excited over learning how to do things for him? I thought it was AWESOME that I was getting to do this, cause I am learning for our future, and I would be helping his mom out so she wouldn't have to come out to his room whenever he needed something, that I could do it. Am I weird for being excited over it?

Nope... not weird at all. Be proud of yourself, your man is trusting you and thats an extremely important part of any relationship, and you are showing him you care, and that you accept him as he is by learning about his physical needs. Well done!!! Keep building on that future!! Sounds to me like its going to be a good one. :)

Hi i know how you feel.I care for my brother in law and everyday i learn something new ,and get so excited ,not just for me but for him too. I am so proud and so should you ,so if we wont to say yipee then let us :)

When I learned to do my husband's catheter, I actually wanted to demonstrate to everyone that I could do it. Too bad he didn't want me showing his weiner around!!!

LoL....Tony was excited for me too... he said he was proud of me. That made me SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy. This week he said he will teach me more... I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!! Hehehe I'm such a dork...LOL

Hi Hillary,

When I was originally injured there was a lot of student nurses in the department. I am easy going and talked to the student that was assigned to me a lot. One day he got the courage to ask if I would show him how a person cath'd. That lead to him actally doing the cath. Well, the ball started rolling and the other student nurses started hating that I was so open about things with my nurse while others could'nt do squat with their patients. Eventually the teacher asked if all the students could do a cath on me....why always me... Anyhow, eventually a good number of them got to do a cath on me.

Now one thing to point out here. It's not unusual for a man to get an erection during a cath. As things would work out, you can only have so many students do a cath on you before...BINGO... :rolleyes:

I don't know who was worse, me trying to quietly talk about the cath procedure while happy henry rose to the occasion, or the the look of embarassment of the 18-19? year old girl trying to,,err get things in hand while I got up. I imagine the other half a dozen students gave her a hard (no pun intended) time about it.

I used to see patient having an erection while doing a cath.Especially when I'm doing a skin prep/pennis prep.Suddenly happy "johnson" got erected,and it will cause a difficulty insertion of the cath or it will cause a ressistance.That's why I wait or pause for a while to calm down "johnson". :rolleyes:

But sometimes.....I cant hide my blushing face wich is so obvious coz It's sooooooooooo red! If I have something in my green mind...and I saw quad patient got a boner....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! The words in my poluted mind was...."I WISH I COULD TAKE YOU HOME.... :) "

Prior to to gaining my wheels,

Theres nothing worse than when the people you are with leave the swimming pool as its time to go home, and you really can't you need to stay for another five minutes !!

I'm excited again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL...I cathed him this time!!!! His one nurse helped me out. I was SOOOOOOOOOO nervous... but I did it. Hehehe.. YAY! I know that our future together is going to be amazing. We spent 4 amazing days together, we even had our portrait taken. I will post the picture when I get them
