Does anyone here race shifter karts? I know that Wayne Rainy started racing karts after his accident in MotoGP. I am looking into racing shifter karts myself. I still have the racing bug. I did motorcycle road racing up until my accident and loved it. I head that shifter kart racing was the closest thing to motorcycle racing.

My 17 year old son was paralyzed last march while racing motocross in texas. He has been diving a rotax 125cc centrifugal clutch cart for the past few months and loves it. he's a T6, it has motorcycle style handle bars, twist throttle and a left hand brake. Goes about 90MPH.
you can check his website out a www.rickyjames824.com

Good Luck!!!

do a search on ekartingnews.com forums for hand controls...there is a guy racing at Denton (sp?) TX I believe who runs a shifter...I called him when I first got the bug this summer...he's got a setup he designed around a Honda Odyssey wheel...

I did this for my TaG kart this summer...not quite as fast as a shifter but not as busy either!
