Where do you live? If you live in the U.S., call your local hospitals and ask for the Doctors' Referral department and tell them what you are looking for and they should be able to give you a list of doctors and their background. Maybe they have a way of faxing or emailing info to you so you can look over the number of years the doctors have been in practice and what exactly their specialty is. If you find a neurologist, you might find one who specializes in SCI. I found a physiatrist is the best bet; at least it was for my husband. You can also contact the American Medical Association for a list of doctors.

I usually ask about years of experience and their age b/c at least with me (I'm AB), I don't necessarily feel the older doctors know more. Being a doctor means you have to stay constantly educated, but sometimes you can't teach an old dog new tricks. You can also check to see if any doctors have marks against them by checking their background from your state’s Board of Medical Examiners.

Good luck.

After noodling around on google, I found thiswebsite (great if you're in the US). You want to find a doctor that is a (sports) rehab specialist or physiologist. Do some calling, it also matters what kind of insurance you have as well. :D
