Failed High Diver!

Did you know that Water-related activities are the number one cause of spinal cord injuries resulting from sports and recreation activities.

Each year in the United States, approximately 13,000 diving-board-related injuries are sufficiently serious to be brought to hospital emergency rooms; diving accidents cause approximately 800 spinal cord injuries.

One of the major accident patterns associated with swimming pools was striking the bottom or sides of the pool because of insufficient depth for diving or sliding.

Just because you are paralyzed though does not mean you will never swim again. Just take a look at the Para-olympics, however, the diving board may be a problem!
