Take It Easy!

Sleep, it is a very important and very under rated part of a disabled persons life.

One of the first signs of sleep depravation in a disabled person, is a reduced level of stamina and energy. Also, muscle spasms can increase, and more importantly, the skin will be more prone to breakdown resulting in pressure sores.

It is known that sleep depravation also lowers the immune system, leaving your body more prone to catching colds and infections. Colds can be a problem in Quadraplegics and other people with a reduced lung capacity, as they often end up resulting in a chest infection of varying degrees.

There is no point in staying up all hours of the day just because every one else does. If you feel tired, take a nap, you will be healthier for it in the long run.
