Everything in Proportion

So, what do you see when you look in a mirror, do you see a well proportioned body, symetrical in it's appearance, or do you just see a bag of bones on wheels?

Leonardo De Vince's drawing called "Proportion" was for a dissertation published by Luca Pacioli in 1509 entitled "De Divina Proportione", perhaps the earliest reference in literature to another of its names, the "Divine Proportion."

The drawing by De Vinci was part of his personal interest of the human anatomy, beauty and study into the human form.

From these images and writings, many artists have founded their work over the centuries, which has filtered through to our perceptions of beauty in modern day.

One can only wonder what the perceptions and attitudes today would be of the human form, if De Vinci had drawn his illustrations as shown here.
