Wheelchair Accessible Cottage - Côtes d' Armor - Brittany North and East, France

We have just opened a self catering holiday cottage, designed specifically for wheelchair users and those with mobility difficulties, in the Cotes d'Armor, Brittany, France. It is in a rural setting but close to local amenities. Our cottage sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms. The ground floor has a large wet-room, with extra height toilet, grab rails and 'wheel in' shower. Ground floor bedroom and bathroom doors are extra width to make sure that there are no scraped knuckles. Everything on the ground floor is level and flat, no rugs etc. Exterior is a good clean entrance with no steps.

We have tried to keep the cost of holidaying in the cottage low thus enabling more visitors in wheelchairs or with mobility difficulties to perhaps enjoy a holiday break for longer. We are not out to make a fortune, or take advantage of people, but simply to give back to life some of what we have been lucky enough to enjoy.

About The Cottage

Country cottage, recently opened for holidays enabling you to enjoy a peaceful and tranquil holiday in comfort. Easy access for disabled visitors and completely wheelchair accessible, suitable also to visitors with mobility or other disabilities.

The cottage includes 2 double bedrooms, one on the ground floor. Fitted kitchen, living and dining area, wet room with grab rails, shower stool and extra height toilet. Comfortable and attractive furnishings to make your stay a home from home. On the first floor is a mezzanine seating area with books etc for your enjoyment, plus the second bedroom with en-suite toilet and wash-hand basin. Easy access to the cottage both front and rear, no steps. TV, bed linen, garden furniture all provided for your use. Gas, electricity and water included, heating is electric in all rooms.There is ample parking on site.

The cottage is surrounded by open countryside with spectacular views, yet close to local amenities, cinema, swimming pool, weekly market, shops and restaurants in Carhaix-Plouguer. Rostrenen has many shops, and a weekly market. Locarn, the local village, is just a 2 minute drive where you can purchase bread etc. Perfect location for exploring the granite coastline of the Cotes d'Armor, Nantes-Brest Canal, local lakes at Glomel and Caurel and water gardens at Mael-Carhaix. Beaches, historical and market towns such as Morlaix, Heulgoat, Guingamp and Callac are all easily reached. There are nearby train stations in Carhaix-Plouguer or Guingamp, from where you can connect to Paris etc. Roscoff approximately one hour drive time and St Malo approximately two hours drive.
