Visitors Coments

"I can highly recommend the Casa Los Olivos near Alora in Andalucia as a suitable self catering holiday destination for a wheelchair user. I spent a week there in June 2005 - in fact I think we were one of the first paying guests. The house has been finished to a very high standard and the main bathroom has a fully accessible shower. I see from their website that the swimming pool which was being built when I was there is now finished with a paved surround. The couple who own and run the attached guesthouse are very friendly and extremely helpful. They made us feel very at home."

Owner Coments

"I used to be a development manager responsible for developing accommodation for elderly and disabled people in the uk.

My husband and I moved to Spain 4 years ago, and have designed and built accommodation specifically to suit wheelchair users.

All doorways are 1m wide, there is a wheel in shower, and both shower and bathrooms are spacious enough to allow a generous turning circle and to access the WC from the side.

The sitting/ dining and kitchen area is all open plan, and 50m2, so plenty of room.

We also have a twin bedroom with en suite wheel in shower available for bed and breakfast, and a further double b and b room (not suitable for wheel chair users as its on the first floor)

Altogether we can accommodate 8 persons, with wheelchair accommodation for all but 2.

We are located just outside the town, with fabulous views across to El Chorro and El Torcal national parks and the property is reasonably close to the road, so no long dodgy track.

We have an 8 x 4m pool - and there is a 13 x 3m terrace to the front of the self catering house."
