Oystercatcher Lodge - Accessible South Africa

Hi there!

I'd just like to rave about the following B&B where I stayed at recently.

Oystercatcher Lodge is situated a good 2 to 2-1/2 hours outside of Cape Town, along the West Coast.  The Lodge itself is 100% wheelchair accessible with a dedicated disabled room with killer ocean views!

They have a roll-in shower but no shower chair, so I improvised and used one of the chairs on the balcony in the shower and that worked out just fine.  The bathroom has all the necessary grab rails around the loo and in the shower, so it should be suitable for most.

You get tea/coffee in the room with kettle but if you want to watch telly, you'll have to go to the lounge area for that.  In the lounge area, they have a honesty bar, where you write down what it is that your drinking.

Breakfast is the only meal served and is included in the rate per night.  There is a Cattle Baron restaurant a bit further down from the Lodge and I was warned that there is a ramp but it's steep, so we where able to order in and had our meal in the room.

I really had a wonderful weekend and truly enjoyed my time at the Oystercatcher Lodge.  So should you ever wonder on down the West Coast road and need a place to stay, give the Oystercatcher Lodge a try.
Happy travelling!
