Rooprai Spinal Trust

Marrianne Rooprai Spinal TrustMarrianne Rooprai is the inspiration behind the 'Rooprai Spinal Trust'.

It's hoped that Marrianne's strength and determination will give others hope and that her dealings with 'spinal injury' will educate others blissfully unaware of the suffering that could happen to anyone.

Prior to June 13th 2004, Marrianne was a fun loving, bubbly 27 year old with her whole life in front of her. Marrianne had started her own hospitality business in Hertfordshire with her partner Andrew and had spent the last 12 months making contact with sporting events throughout the world.

On June 13th 2004 Marrianne, was paralysed from the shoulders down. Today Marrianne’s strive for recovery continues. A true inspiration for us all.

Trust Objectives

The Rooprai Spinal Trust has one major goal. That goal is to help as many people as possible that have been affected by spinal injury.

In order to achieve this goal the trustees, the trust manager and everybody associated with RST have drawn up a list of objectives they wish to achieve. It is important to realise that the trust is very much in its infancy, as we grow so too will our hopes and aspirations.

  1. The trust will supply ‘scholarships’ to successful applicants for a variety of reasons. To begin with the scholarships will be based on financing equipment that will make people with spinal injuries lives easier. As the trust grows, the scholarships will broaden and allow those who wish to do so, to follow Marrianne’s recovery path.
  2. RST will be providing financial support to ‘The Osborn Spinal Unit’. It is hoped our support will help make the lives of future patients easier.
  3. RST will support other charities in their quest to find a cure for paralysis. After all we all have one common goal. We are in negotiations with a globally recognised foundation based in America. We hope to work together and bring their support to our shores….We will keep you posted.
  4. Marrianne is very much the inspiration for RST. Without Marrianne the trust wouldn’t exist. We plan to use Marrianne as an ambassador for RST. Marrianne will be at the forefront in the fight against paralysis. Any success Marrianne finds will be passed on for others.

If anyone has any questions for Marrianne or messages, please contact here using the contact information on the right of this page.
